Today we had two very important people talk to us about south Sudan Janet and Phil. They both work at South Sudan but for different companies. We learnt a lot as well as stuff about Juba which is the capital of south Sudan.Something we learnt was that when the get hot at night they put there blankets in the shower then were them to get cold,Since there is no electricity they can't use Fans or anything like that and there houses are made out of bamboo and mud so that won't help. There is the Nile river going strait through South Sudan that kids swim in even though the water isn't healthy.Sadly it is very dangerous on the road because there are lots of armed robberies and if you want to fly a plane then you had to get permission three times to fly. in the end I found out a lot about South Sudan.
Thank you
Manu

Te Tuna Taone Urban Eel Trip
On the 7th of march the years 5,6,7, and 8 at my school went to heathcote river we learnt about our waterways in christchurch with the help of two very important people Bridget and matt.On the day they caught a heap of white bait and put them into a bucket but the bucket was so dirty we couldn't see them and when we went there I stuck my hands in the bucket and I picked up so many white bait and put them in a jar with water and here's one of them. They also caught eels and we got to feel them.
another thing is a tray we got with a heap of grass and little sticks and also some water bugs and we put the water bugs into separate trays then we got a picture of a heap of water bugs and we had to find out what the bugs we found were called.
Thank you,
Manu

Today I will be talking to you about my LEARNZ experience. The whole Batten team watched a live video watched were he answered everybody questions. One thing we learnt was that there is fossil water under the ground in Africa but it is so deep down that one's you use it it doesn't fill back up.Something else he said was that as long as the water cycle keeps going we will have unlimited water. He also showed us that you can change salt water into fresh water,it's called desalination. It was really interesting.
Thank you,
Manu
