Term 1 and 2 reflection

I am really glad with the classroom I was put in,I love the teacher I am with.We have done a lot of cool things in the last 2 terms.Something we do every Thursday  we do winter sport  were we play a sport against another school,We are also looking at finical literacy  were we are going to put up a market for people to buy and my group are making milkshakes and waffles. We also had the people from Mai FM and 2 canterbury rams come to our school and we practiced shooting the basketball with them.We also had a catholic's day where we went to st teresa's school and played some game.we also had a lot more stuff happen which I won't go into like we had a deep sea diving specialist come in an talk to us about diving,a project to save the eels,we also had a pink shirt day to stop bullying, Middleton grange music academy played some music at our school for us.So overall it has been a great first two terms.

Production 🎥

Kia ora everyone,

On the 19th of September the school had its production and this one was about year eights on there last day and there looking back at good times they've had.I got a minor role in scene eight it was about infants in a preschool and we pretend to be stupid ut then we talk to each other and be really smart without the teacher in the play knowing.

Everyone gets into a group of around twenty people and they get a song and they have to make dance moves for it, I did one about a P.A.T test at school and I really enjoyed it I was standing right beside my friends and the whole thing was so fun.We had two shows one at 1:00 pm and also one at 6:00 pm and overall this production was the best one yet.

Refugee day

On Thursday the 4th of April My school did a refugee day to see what a normal day as a refugee and see what they have everyday to eat and sleep in. So we made box forts and imagine that that was what we would live in if  we were refugees.

It was awesome we made such an awesome fort and I hope we could do it again. We were also given half a cup of rice to understand that they would be lucky to get that.

It was really fun but I don’t think I would be able to live in there.

Thank you,

South Sudan Talkover

Today we had two very important people talk to us about south Sudan Janet and Phil. They both work at South Sudan but for different companies. We learnt a lot as well as stuff about Juba which is the capital of south Sudan.Something we learnt was that when the get hot at night they put there blankets in the shower then were them to get cold,Since there is no electricity they can't use Fans or anything like that and there houses are made out of bamboo and mud so that won't help. There is the Nile river going strait through South Sudan that kids swim in even though the water isn't healthy.Sadly it is very dangerous on the road because there are lots of armed robberies  and if you want to fly a plane then you had to get permission three times to fly. in the end I found out a lot about South Sudan.

Te Tuna Taone Urban Eel Trip

On the 7th of march the years 5,6,7, and 8 at my school went to heathcote river we learnt about our waterways in christchurch with the help of two very important people Bridget and matt.On the day they caught a heap of white bait and put them into a bucket but the bucket was so dirty we couldn't see them and when we went there I stuck my hands in the bucket and I picked up so many white bait and put them in a jar with water and here's one of them. They also caught eels and we got to feel them.
another thing is a tray we got with a heap of grass and little sticks and also some water bugs and we put the water bugs into separate trays then we got a picture of a heap of water bugs and we had to find out what the bugs we found were called.

Thank you,
Manu

Today I will be talking to you about my LEARNZ experience. The whole Batten team watched a live video  watched were he answered everybody questions. One thing we learnt was that there is fossil water under the ground in Africa but it is so deep down that one's you use it it doesn't fill back up.Something else he said was that as long as the water cycle keeps going we will have unlimited water. He also showed us that you can change salt water into fresh water,it's called desalination. It was really interesting.
